Was wondering whether anyone knew what the above index rating is based on. The euroleague use it officially as a benchmark of a players performance (similar to the reasoning of DeanO's Offensive Rating I'm assuming) and use it to highlight which players are contributing the most to the teams performance (They name the best rated player using the index on their website). Interesting.
If anyone knows anything surrounding this index I'd be grateful for their input. Thanks |

I've seen a couple of formulas for it:
Index=(Pts+Reb+Ast+Stl+Blk+Fouls Drawn(?)-Missed 2FG-Missed 3FG-Missed FT-TO-Own Shots Blocked-PF)/GP
Or also:
Index=(Pts+Ast+Reb+Blk+Stl+Fouls Drawn+FTM+2FGM+3FGM-TO-Own Shots Blocked-PF-Missed FT-Missed 2FG-Missed 3FG)/GP
I'm not sure which one is the official formula. Also, I guess Euroleague keeps track of some of the more obscure categories (own shots blocked, "fouls drawn", etc.).
Seems an awful lot like Manley Credits to me anyway. |
