What can you tell us about the T-Wolves next coach? Is he down with the stat revolution?
Incidentally, I'm surprised Phil Jackson's name never even came up for the T-Wolves. Seems like a natural fit. But I guess love (and the prospect of team ownership) conquers all. |

Kevin, thanks for the link. Eager to see what he does with the T-Wolves. |

Dwane frequently brought my work into the coaches meeting and stated his respect for what I do. Whether he is "down with the stat revolution" is a broader question. He doesn't embrace stats for the sake of stats but used insight that I brought from stat analysis (I almost never gave the team lists of numbers but rather suggested actions with a basis in #s). He and I worked well together and I would gladly work with him again. Personally and professionally, I will miss him on the team (and Dean Demopoulos as he'll probably go with Dwane). He gave me a lot of opportunity both on and off the floor, so I'm glad to see him get his own big opportunity. _________________ Dean Oliver

And so, if our man Dean goes to Minnesota, and THEY improve by 20 games, then something is definitely happening. |
