  13. Brian Robinson Says:

Any of you Seattle folks (Griff? Steve?) have a desire to get together somewhere to watch it? Then we could do a big group hug after peeling ourselves off the floor.

  14. myELFboy Says:

Pinch myself over and over and over and over and over….

  15. McCoy Says:

Start speculating on which young centers they are going to trade and for whom - and praying it is not Sene.

  16. Dick Tate Says:

I’ll stop thinking about Clay Bennett… for a day or two.

  17. go sonics Says:

wish we got #2 because I don’t know who to take at #1!!! I love Durant , but Oden fits our needs more

  18. monty Says:

I will pray that they don’t blow it by NOT drafting Oden.
    I can see it now

“We have a good young core of centers, and Robert Swift is returning from injury…”

  19. mtp Says:

…have flashbacks of the good ol’ days of Payton and Kemp….

  20. Myk Says:

Go Bill Simmons! Takes alot of balls considering how much he wants Boston to win

  21. FrodoTO Says:

…wake up. At least that’s what happened the last time the Sonics won the lottery (2 nights ago.)

But if it actually happens, I imagine I’ll be apologizing to my wife for scaring our daughter by screaming and dancing around like a madman.

  22. ElvisThePelvis Says:

SH*T my drawers and clean myself up with a Starbucks Napkin. Good luck tonight Sonics, My the curse of Mutumbo kissing the basketball on OUR home court be lifted tonight!

  23. ElvisThePelvis Says:

    “MAY” that is!

  24. Steve Says:

Laugh at Danny Ainge for being shut out of the top spot again despite his desperate attempts at tanking. :)

  25. David Says:

Go buy a lottery ticket because the odds must be good there as well.

  26. mk Says:

…Laugh when they draft a center for the fourth year in a row.

  27. Myk Says:

Imagine the headline for the Seattle Times the day after the draft:

“Sonics Draft Local Legend Spencer Hawes with First Pick”

  28. Myk Says:

Prepare for all the “sources out of New York” who claim we are wiling to trade the #1 pick in a three way trade for a package of Adam Morrison, Nate Robinson and Jamal Crawfor…

  29. frank Says:

Wonder why we wasted it on the Chinese guy.

  30. Menace Says:

I’ll buy season tickets if we get #1 or #2.

  31. Vinny Says:

    begin expecting armageddon…..

  32. Stewie Griffin Says:

I’ll wonder if, in another way to avoid contact with the public, they don’t have a draft party.

  33. cássio Says:

…pray that they draft Oden, package Shard + one of the PGs + one of the bigs + a future pick to Utah for Deron Williams and Andrei Kirilenko

  34. F-Rod Says:

Trade the pick to # 2 for another top pick. Re-Sign R. LewisDraft Conley and Durant and play a Pheonix Suns style of ball.

  35. larry Says:

…intially be excited up until coming to the realization that Oden/Durant will be winning championships in Kansas City. :(

  36. alvin Says:

    …soil my pants.

  37. Myk Says:

    Question…

If we did win the #1 pick. What would it take for you to trade that…is there a package out there that would make you consider making a trade??

***I know this won’t happen…but just wondering how high of a value people think this pick is worth***

  38. Brian Robinson Says:

There will be a draft party. Not sure what the team is planning however….

  39. Scott Says:

“What would it take for you to trade that…is there a package out there that would make you consider making a trade??”

There’s nothing out there that could pry either pick away from me. No chance that I’d deal #1 for #2 and anything either.

  40. Joe Newell Says:

“SH*T my drawers and clean myself up with a Starbucks Napkin. Good luck tonight Sonics, My the curse of Mutumbo kissing the basketball on OUR home court be lifted tonight!”

That about sums it up for me.

Damn sure Clay Bennett doesn’t deserve any good luck or good karma, but maybe we will get the pick in spite of the peckerhead.

  41. larry Says:

agreed joe newell. bennett doesnt deserve any karma.

so the question is this. who is this lottery for? us or kc/okc? if it’s not for us (which looks to be the case), I’m rooting for the 8th pick. It is going to hurt bad enough to lose our team. But it would sting that much more to lose our beloved team right after we got Oden or Durant.

  42. ichiro998 Says:

Start believing, hope that there is a better management team and probably buy season tickets!!

  43. Dick Tate Says:

    I’m with you there, Larry.
#8 would be perfect karma for Bennett.
Loved the Starbucks napkin line, Elvis!

  44. WMG2 Says:

    Start believing in karma.

Great line from Bill Simmons ESPN.com today:

“Seattle deserves a break because it’s a good basketball city that’s being held hostage by some latte-drinking billionaire dipwad who sold the team to the ultra-conservative Oklahoma hick with no soul.”

  45. g Says:

Bill simons picking us as the team that built up the most karma to get a top 2 pick… i just hope that he didn’t jinx us and make us lose the karma. In fact, that’s probably why he didn’t pick his celtics #1– not because he didn’t want to look biased, he just didn’t want to jinx his team. He’s so superstitious that he probably thought exactly that… god forbid if he had picked his celts #1 and they got #3….

  46. TJK Says:

  47. seattle_brett Says:

wow we are in the top 3.. come on baby!!!

  48. TJK Says:

c’mon…..i can hardly stand it…..all for the future of the franchise…

  49. Sammo Says:

    :) :) :) Hurry up commercials! :) :) :)

  50. TJK Says:

    DURANT DURANT DURANT!!!

  51. MarkS Says:

    We’re number 2. Portland’s 1.

    Oden or Durant.

  52. seattle_brett Says:

  56. malaman41 Says:

  57. MarkS Says:

Gotta say that’s the best news all day.

I was fuming after reading the Bennett - KC story.

  58. James B. Says:

At least it’s pretty darn obvious who we should be drafting at #2. Always bet green brought the luck…
