The game is being broadcast on radio only on KTTH. Discuss here if you’re tuning in.

That sucks. I thought we’d at least be on NBA TV for the first scrimmage now we have Durant. Rough…
October 9th, 2007 at 4:58 pm
can I get that on the internet?
October 9th, 2007 at 4:58 pm
My mistake, it was Percy Allen…
October 9th, 2007 at 5:05 pm
Urgh! This won’t show up for me, if it does, I will have like 4 or 5 posts of it. Starting Lineup tonight is:
Luke Ridnour, Kevin Durant, Damien Wilkins, Nick Collison, and Robert Swift. Look at Percy Allen’s blog for other info.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
I just went to the KTTH website. There is nowhere to click to “listen live”. Am I missing something?
October 9th, 2007 at 5:14 pm
There is espn.com where you can watch Gamecast. I usually do that when I can’t see the games.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Interesting lineup…
Luke will be our starting PG when the season begins. I’m sure of it… KD will be our 2… after that… I can see Wilkins starting at the 3 to be our defensive player in our line-up… At the 4, I’d prefer Nick to Wilcox, but we’ll see… and at the 5… i think starting Swifty is best… unless he truly is too slow and we use him when games begin to grind out… if that’s the case, a Nick and Wilcox starting tandem would work for me, or I guess Petro starting wouldnt be that terrible if only for his speed purposes… then quickly bring KT off the bench…
October 9th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
Our team is just too damn deep… No matter what PJ says about using a lot of players, it’s not going to work… no one will check egos at the door if theyre not winning games, and we won’t win games… I say Watson, Wilcox, Petro, and Jelly are the ones out the door… That’s over $12 mill in salary… any $12 mill salary dumps or players worth that out there?
October 9th, 2007 at 6:11 pm
WOW the first game thread of the year!
October 9th, 2007 at 6:14 pm
Mike Savage is insane… I can’t believe a radio show like this even exists in Seattle… What are the Sonics doing on this station???
October 9th, 2007 at 6:17 pm
Apparently, according to NBA.com, audio league pass is free for the 07-08 season including the preseason.
Go to NBA.com. Scroll down and find the tiny audio league pass link at the bottom. Then either sign up or login. When the games available box opens up, click on Seattle. It should actually be the feed from KTTH.
Also, Kevin P. will be live blogging. So, with the audio, the gamecast and the live blog, we should get pretty close to being there coverage.
October 9th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
$8.9mill gets you White Chocolate’s corpse.
Reckon the Heat would take Watson, Petro and Wilkens in return?
October 9th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
I’m getting Boston against Toronto on NBA tv however right now.
October 9th, 2007 at 6:21 pm
Oh, and yeah, he’s in his contract year. So that’s $8.9mill off the books at year end.
No idea if the numbers actually work, but they must be close if they don’t.
October 9th, 2007 at 6:24 pm
the official team site says it will have a link to the radio broadcast but doesnt have the link up yet
October 9th, 2007 at 6:28 pm
Anybody know if the full replay of the game will be available anywhere?
October 9th, 2007 at 6:56 pm
I bought the league pass on directv and Im watching the game…. I live in Missouri tho…
October 9th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
http://www.myp2p.eu/NBA.htm
This site claims it will be showing the game.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:02 pm
“Mike Savage is insane… I can’t believe a radio show like this even exists in Seattle… What are the Sonics doing on this station???”
I know. It’s pretty painful waiting for the game. I think I’d rather watch Clay Bennett in a Chippendale’s revue than listen to Savage.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:03 pm
Who’s the announcer? That’s not Calabero.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:07 pm
Matt Pinto is the announcer.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:07 pm
Brad Miller in corn rows…I want to see this picture…
October 9th, 2007 at 7:10 pm
DREW OWEN!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!!!!!!! I have nba league pass and never thought to look there thinking it wasn’t going to be aired! I’m watching the game right now!!!!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:12 pm
I have NBA league pass with dishnetwork and don’t have the game.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:15 pm
I am also getting the Sacto broadcast. Last year I thought they were the worst in the NBA. Just horrible.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:18 pm
Liked Swift getting in the lane and denying Martin. He’s pumped.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
God this is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this game!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
If only we can get Sonics broadcasters…
It sounds like a dwarf is doing the Sacto broadcast.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:21 pm
So there’s no listening feed on the web?
Bummer, makes me miss hearing locke call games with the accuracy and quickness of a toddler..
October 9th, 2007 at 7:22 pm
Wilkins is a scoring machine!!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:24 pm
*Bang*
I can’t stand listening to this announcer…
October 9th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
http://www.myp2p.eu/NBA.htm
This site is working. I’m watching the game right now. You have to download the program they ask you to, and then select cable tv, and then select football 255. It’s actually the sonics game.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
MK, you can get the lousy Sacto feed off of NBA.com/audio league pass. They’ve spent more time talking about Swiftys tats than the game.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
Wilkins…turning it on.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
you tell already this is a different team… 7 baskets, 7 assists.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
Pelton just logged on at the Sonics.com site for live blogging and there is a link for the audio.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
Aww…wait, no I’m just blind.
I, erm, take back the Locke comment. I don’t miss him at all.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
I’ve got game channel on. They need to update their picture of Swift.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:27 pm
You guys could just watch the game.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Delonte with an early turnover.
Indicative of his handling ability perhaps?
Anyone got some visual detail of the play?
October 9th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Wow this thing is awesome. Thanks for the link ss.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
“You guys could just watch the game.”
I’m on a college network. I’m really wary of putting any sharing programs on my comp…Losing internet for a preseason game doesn’t really seem worth it.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
Kevin Martin is a foo.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
Yeah Mikki Moore! I miss that guy, classy act. He would often walk around the Key after games talking to fans and signing autographs, players like this guy are too few. Hope to see him do well again this year… at least for 78 games of the season.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
Jeff Green for the jackhammer slam!!!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
So that new and “improved” Sonics D, eh?
October 9th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
Nice Guard Play!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
A lot of Delonte West……
October 9th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
Durant - the 2nd pick in the draft, and he only scores 1 bucket in the first quarter of his 1st preseason game.
He’s a bust.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Very cool. Thanks SS.
I’m seeing it on Hong Kong Football (389)
October 9th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Sacto Homers #1: “nobody at his position is quicker or faster than Kevin Martin.”
October 9th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Luke is done for the night, that sucks…
October 9th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Delonte’s getting it done.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:47 pm
West is dang exciting Nice outside shot. Goes to the hole, too
October 9th, 2007 at 7:48 pm
There are HONG KONG fans on this board? I am from HK, but I just live in Seattle. This is awesome to know!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
WOW. Delonte has some serious game.
The moves he’s putting out there on the court and his ability to drive. Baller!
October 9th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
42-36 Sonics. West put wicked spin move on Martin and high arching layin.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Yeah, if anyone wants to watch it, it’s on that tvKoo program. I’m getting it on HongKong 389.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
Swifty just looks like a beast. Good lord.
October 9th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
Nick looks quite mobile. And…nice to see Swift playing.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
4 fouls on KD and Petro.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
We’re getting killed at the free throw line. We need KD to go to the line in the second half instead of fouling out.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Is anyone guarding Kevin Martin?
October 9th, 2007 at 8:18 pm
The box score i’m looking at is all messed up. It says Watson is 4-4 in only one minute of action! What a beast!
October 9th, 2007 at 8:20 pm
Damn I was expecting more from KD tonight. So far he’s looked pretty awkward.
Hope he lights up the 2nd half.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
What the heck? Memphis lost to Unicaja Malaga, and they started Damon Stoudamire over M. Connelly. Good move, coach.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:22 pm
I just read that Luke is injured. Anyone know anything?
October 9th, 2007 at 8:24 pm
I think KD will have another adjustment period. He just came from physical practices where fouls weren’t called at all to the NBA game where there are way more calls. So, he’s got 4 fouls.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
I heard that Luke got poked in the eye. Don’t know how serious it is.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:27 pm
Lukes not going to back in the game. Got a pretty good shiner. Maybe he should start wearing a face mask?
October 9th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
“I heard that Luke got poked in the eye. Don’t know how serious it is.”
Sacto announcers saying he was cut and was bleeding…nothing beyond that.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
Cant Wilcox put some stickum on his hands?
October 9th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
It’s nice to read that Robert Swift is playing well tonight.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
Our passing is horrible
October 9th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
Hmmm…I thought it was a shot to the nose, that Luke took…
October 9th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
Wilcox looking a lot like Kwame Brown right now (Butter fingers).
October 9th, 2007 at 8:45 pm
It is frightening how many bad decisions Watson makes with the ball.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:56 pm
Nice hard foul by Swift! We need to do alot of that when those little guys drive to the basket!
October 9th, 2007 at 8:57 pm
“What the heck? Memphis lost to Unicaja Malaga, and they started Damon Stoudamire over M. Connelly. Good move, coach.”
Do you think Mike Conley Jr is good enough to start right away? I don’t. Not many PGs come in and start right away…..especially ones that were drafted based on potential.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:57 pm
If/when Swift gets fully healthy, he will be a force in this league.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
Something scary just popped in my head as I was watching Durant take his free throws. What if he never fills out that body? He has a similar body to Darius Miles, and he never filled out after many seasons.
And I agree with court. Rob clogs the paint and is always near the ball for rebounds. I wish he’d get more touches to show off some moves.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
KD will fill out; he’s got a way better work ethic than D. Miles.
God, Petro’s stat line is horrible.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:07 pm
He’s got more fouls than rebounds…embarassing.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:08 pm
Just looked at the roster. I’m reminded Hawes was drafted by Sacramento. Why hasn’t he seen any minutes yet? Isn’t that the whole point of preseason?
October 9th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Hawes just had surgery on his knee. Out indefinitely.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:11 pm
Petro is one of those rare players who is so painful to watch, he really makes you consider whether to just turn off the broadcast rather than be subjected to his ineptitude. Absolutely, positively, freaking brutal. I have to ask: what did the Sonics scouts and Rick Sund see that made them think he would ever be an NBA player? Zero awareness of the man or the ball on defense, and no courtsense whatsoever.
And then there’s Wilcox.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
courtsense - agree 100% on Petro, lol.
I tuned in late, how come Jeff Green is getting no run?
October 9th, 2007 at 9:15 pm
At this point in the game:
23 assists, 23 turnovers.
Not good. A bunch of players with 3 or more turnovers. The Kings have a bunch too, but, we aren’t capitalizing.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:19 pm
Green played a lot of the first half and a good chunk of the 3rd quarter.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:19 pm
For those who saw the game, who was the defensive culprit tonight against Kevin Martin? Durant, Wilkins, or West?
October 9th, 2007 at 9:29 pm
I’m curious why isn’t Duran in the game with 2 minutes left down by only 5pts? I would like to see how he handles close games or not…
October 9th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
I think PJ’s kind of testing out different players more than necessarily going for broke to win these games. Otherwise, KD would be in there.
——————————————–
Here’s an ugly stat. Damien Wilkins was the only player in double figures who did not have 3 or more turnovers.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
So what do you all make of D. Wilkins game tonight? What does it mean? Anything?
October 9th, 2007 at 9:36 pm
It means Damien’s trade value is 0.02% higher than it was this morning.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:39 pm
I wouldn’t say that Kevin Martin was really the story of the game. It was more about our turnovers and getting outscored from the free throw line–among other things.
Apparently the zone defense did work pretty well in our comeback though.
——————————————–
It was interesting to hear the radio commentators note that P.J. stated that it would have really helped to have some extra weeks of practice to get a young team ready for the season. 6 weeks for college coaches and only 1 week for the NBA. That’s a huge advantage for experienced teams coming back to the same system that they had the year before.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:39 pm
Really bad passing, bad dribbling, two 5 second violations. The story of tonights game.
Some of the positives include:
Swift looking pretty good when he was out there. He was contesting shots, rebounding well. Just generally using his body to bang down low. He looks more confident.
Delonte in the first half lit it up. He is pretty creative as a playmaker but is pretty streaky.
Although Collison had two boneheaded 5 second violations, he made some nice defensive plays. Took a charge on Mikki, forcing a travel on Thomas, had a monsterous blocked shot on Salmons I believe.
Since it was the first game and the rotations were all kind of wacky, sloppy play was to be expected. KD found a groove with his jumpshot in 2nd half which was nice to see. Give him about 2 more preseason games and he’ll start putting up 20 a night.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:43 pm
“So what do you all make of D. Wilkins game tonight? What does it mean? Anything?”–JJ
It’s just one game, but, he definitely played as well or better than anybody tonight. At the very least he could be a sixth man for us. I never thought I’d say this, but, Wally’s 3s will definitely come in handy at the end of games.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:44 pm
KD will definitely improve upon this performance.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
I did not see the game - how did Luke Look & how did Watson look?
October 9th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
I’m hoping that Carlisimo can bring our team assist to turnover ratio down. That would be an interesting stat to follow throughout the season. I wonder what the Spurs’ team assist to turnover ratio was last year. Or Phoenix’s…
October 9th, 2007 at 9:49 pm
Luke went out with an eye injury early in the game. Watson scored pretty well, but, had a lot of turnovers. Delonte lit it up for a short stretch in the first half.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:06 pm
Nice 3 ast for Luke in his 5 min.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:07 pm
There’s no doubt he can dish em. The question will be, can he ever make jumpshots consistently enough to be a positive factor? It’s too bad he didn’t get much of a chance to showcase that today.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:21 pm

“There’s no doubt he can dish em. The question will be, can he ever make jumpshots consistently enough to be a positive factor?”
Collison?
October 9th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
Who would have thought Petro would lead the team in steals and blocks. Great job (statistically) on being active and having his head in the game. How did Petro actually look in person?
October 9th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
Random observations from a meaningless preseason game:
Freaking Petro makes freaking Mikki Moore look like freaking Bill Russell! My head hurts just pondering the growing list of counter-intuitive and counter-productive basketball situations Petro routinely gets himself into.
Can somebody please give Michael Cage a call? I bet he’s still in shape - and I know the brother can rebound and play some post D…
You know your team is young when Damien Wilkens looks like the wise, steady veteran of the group. Gelebale’s role - indeed his very future - with this team could fade fast unless he makes a positive statement in the next few weeks. Never thought I’d say that.
West is explosive and athletic, a combination the Sonics have lacked for some time in their backcourt - but does the coaching staff have enough confidence in him to let him run the offense if Luke isn’t on the floor? West isn’t a pure PG, but he’s got a good handle, he can create for himself and others, and he can hit the J when the defense sags. I don’t think I can take much more of SugarBear…
God, I hope Robert Swift recovers quickly and permanently.
Forget their trade value - we need Wally’s scoring off the bench and Thomas’ rebounding and presence more than most of us care to admit.
PJ should throw Durant and Green in the deep end and tell them to swim…don’t be too protective of them, and don’t worry about their confidence - they’re in the Big Boy league now. They need to learn the game, and fast.
Chris Wilcox…from now on, I’m gonna call him “Teaser.” He’s actually a decent interior passer, and unselfish in that respect. He’s a yacht of talent, and a dinghy of desire. An explosion just waiting to happen…and I keep waiting…and waiting…
Win or lose, this year with this team will be very interesting.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
“Who would have thought Petro would lead the team in steals and blocks. Great job (statistically) on being active and having his head in the game. How did Petro actually look in person?”
Not pretty.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:57 pm
Still scored 98 points with Luke (5 minutes or something), Szczerbiak, and Kurt Thomas not playing. I don’t think offense is going to be the problem for this team personally, but we will see I suppose.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:59 pm
Kevin Martin is one of the weirdest players I’ve ever seen. He’s like the guy on the playground who looks like a complete clown.
You’re on the sidelines, next up, and you’re watching him score at will, with all these crazy-ass shots, and you’re shaking your head the whole time, thinking there’s no way he’d get away with that shit if somebody would just D him up, and you say to your buddies “I wanna guard that goofball motherfucker - I’m gonna shut his ass down.”
And then the game starts and next thing you know that goofball motherfucker is clowning YOU.
I swear I played against him 20 years ago at Grasslawn Park.
October 9th, 2007 at 11:08 pm
Courtsense says: “West is explosive and athletic, a combination the Sonics have lacked for some time in their backcourt - but does the coaching staff have enough confidence in him to let him run the offense if Luke isn’t on the floor? Wow, nice post, Coursense. I agree with everything I’ve quoted. I forget the rest.
Why is NBA League Pass $149 or whatever? That’s way out of my budget, unless I quit drinking entirely, which is like, umm… well I’d really rather not go there, shall we say.
I am also totally scared about installing some filesharing software on my computer just to get access to video of supes games. If I had a spare laptop that I could reimage every week or whatever, then NO PROBLEM!! I’ll install what the faaak ever, you name it. But this is my main computer…. you know… do not want to fck around. Thoughts? Knowledge? Please share.

There’s nothing to install. You just run it and it’s only 400 kb. It’s worth it if you want to catch games out of the region in any sport. The next game on this player is going to be vs. the Pacers I believe on Saturday. It’s probably illegal but I don’t know how they can track you.
October 9th, 2007 at 11:30 pm
Swift and Collison should start. Swift takes up so much space under the basket and with collisons ability to chase down the long rebounds I think they would be a nice tandem on the boards.
October 10th, 2007 at 12:03 am
Man Delonte West is the bomb. IS he going to be our next Antonio Daniels?
Someone mentioned the body type of Durant along the lines of Miles. I’m not worried, Darius Miles never had the skills and understanding of the game like Durant. You can be lanky and still be effective in this leauge.
Take a look at Tyshaun Prince.. HELL.
GP did it for 15 years with his skinny @ss.
Speaking of GP… I think Durant has a chance of using his height to punish opposing guards down in the left low-block like the old GP. He can pretty much shoot over 99% of the guards in the leauge.
I’m excited!!!.
This team will be electrifying to watch
October 10th, 2007 at 12:05 am
“Kevin Martin is one of the weirdest players I’ve ever seen. He’s like the guy on the playground who looks like a complete clown.”
DUDE, my sentiment precisely.
He looks so… freaking…unorthodox with his moves. And that crocked @ss jumper he has…
He is like Reggie Miller… when you watch Reggie shoots, it is the farthest thing from a text-book jump shot.
Same with Peja and John Stockton (shooting from his shoulder)
But somehow, someway.. these guys just find a way to get it done
October 10th, 2007 at 12:20 am
For Sam’s benefit….
Earl takes it to the rack between Mikki’s dreads and Brad Miller’s cornrows.

BAHAHAHA!
BTW, Kevin Durant is a total bust.

Here’s the deal on peer-to-peer video networks, such as the one promoted above ^^^^ in this thread.
One point is very clear it IS filesharing, and it a download and installation IS required. It sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen, and I’m going to decline to intall it on my main system.
