Barron Davis is moving South.
Mike Miller is moving North.
Jermain O’Neil is moving North and East.
TJ Ford is moving South and West.
Who else is going to get moved or traded or sign via FA?

I’m not so sure if the guy in this youtube clip wouldn’t have been better than our 24th pick in the draft. Check it out and let me know what you think. Funny sh**.

Would the Supes be interested in Maggette at shooting guard? Can he defend?
Westbrook
Maggette
Durant
Green/White
Petro/Collison
Not a horrible core group. Maggette’s scoring would take some heat off Durant.
I can’t remember whether he’s a sold defender or not…

No thanks to netting Corey Maggette. Nothing that bad, just wouldn’t be too thrilled about it.
Reports are saying Baron Davis has a verbal agreement to sign with the Clippers in a 5-year, $50 million deal. On paper, the Clips would look great: B-Diddy, Brand, Kaman and if they’re lucky a terrific tall and long PG in Shaun Livingston.
I keep thinknig of real-deal PG’s the Supes could add, but then think that we might be stunting Westbrook’s development if we do that. If we could draft Ricky Rubio next year, would you do it? He is the TRUTH. The guy had a 51 point quadruple-double (11 steals) in the championship game in Europe. He has incredible vision, can steal wiht the best of them, rebounds excellently for a PG and can drive and shoot. All this, and he’s only 17 and played professionally already for 3 years. WHA?!? It’s all just too ridiculous. Anyway, do we move Westbrook to the SG, Durant to the SF and snag him up, or let Westbrook have some time to become a true PG? Very tough call, I’d say.

I just read this on the PI web site - Watson is hurt:
SEATTLE, Tuesday, July 1, 2008 – Seattle SuperSonics general manager Sam Presti announced today that guard Earl Watson suffered a fracture of the right thumb while preparing for the upcoming season in a basketball game in Los Angeles. The injury has a typical recovery period of three to four months. Watson is scheduled to have surgery on Thursday, July 3 in Los Angeles.
“We are confident Earl will work hard towards a healthy and timely recovery and look forward to getting him back on the court,” Presti said.

Am I the only one surprised that Baron Davis is leaving GS?

If they were actually trying to win, Corey Maggette would be an excellent fit on this team. His physical style of play would be a very good complement to Durant.
He can play tough defense, is a very good rebounder for a guard and his ability to penetrate and get to the FT line is something that is sorely lacking on this team. I actually remember discussing Maggette as a potential fit last year around this time when there was talk of him possibly being available and we all thought we needed a SG after Ray got traded…
All that said, it doesn’t matter one bit, since we all know they’re not looking to add anyone important as long as they stay in Seattle.

Of course what’s really unfortunate is that we drafted Corey Maggette. I was so happy that we drafted him that year. Then wanted to scream when I found out they had traded him away for Horance Grant.
The reasoning supposedly is because they already had Rashard Lewis and thought Lewis would be the much better pro. Although I do think Lewis is the better player. Having BOTH of them on your team would have been much better than having Horace Grant for 1 year.
I wouldn’t mind Maggette back on the team. But I don’t see the Sonics being too active in the free agent market this year.

SEATTLE (AP)—Starting point guard Earl Watson fractured his right thumb will have surgery Thursday in Los Angeles, the SuperSonics said Tuesday.
The Sonics said the injury has a typical recovery period of 3-4 months.
Last season, the 29-year-old Watson averaged career highs in points (10.7), assists (6.8), rebounds (2.9) and minutes (29.1). During his seven-year NBA career, Watson has averaged 7.4 points and 4.5 assists in 529 games.
Sonics general manager Sam Presti said he is confident Watson will make a “timely recovery.”
The Sonics drafted 19-year-old UCLA sophomore guard Russell Westbrook, the Pac-10 defensive player of the year, last week to be their starting point guard of the future. Watson also played at UCLA. The Sonics also have point guard Luke Ridnour on their roster.
Seattle finished a franchise-worst 20-62 record last season.

Baron Davis playing for the clippers? I watch the clippers. They are not a running team, but Davis is best suited for up-tempo (as in Golden state) and tends to be a gunner and ballhog in a half-court set. He does not get along with coaches, and Mike Dunleavy, clippers coach, is a no-nonsense guy. I’ll be surprised if it works well.

If they re-sign Brand, which seems likely since he says he wants to return, then a starting five of Davis, Gordon, Thornton, Brand, and Kaman looks pretty good to me. I don’t see Baron Davis as a negative at all.
As for the Watson situation, I also don’t see it as something to get really concerned about. The report puts his return at some time in October, which is fine. Ridnour now becomes the most likely to be traded since he has more value. This wasn’t the season that they’re ready to emerge as a playoff team anyways. The Sonics showed last year they were willing to limp along and give their top draft pick lots of playing time and make mistakes. I could see them putting Westbrook right into the fire and live with his rookie mistakes as well.
Has anyone else noticed that center Justin Williams has been included on the Sonics summer league roster? I really like his style of game and thought that he just needed some development time like the Sonics young players. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he outplays Devon Hardin in the summer league and gets a roster spot with Sene out, and Swift still an unknown as far as health goes.

No, that’s not right at all. We took Maggette specifically for Orlando; the deal had already been arranged. If the Sonics had kept the pick they would have taken William Avery.
