As we ring in 2025, we look back on the year that was in Seattle sports, one that peaked on New Year’s Day with UW football beating Texas to reach the College Football Playoff. What followed was a tumultuous year of coaching changes for several teams. We take stock of those decisions, make our choices for Seattle sports figure of the year and revisit our bold predictions for 2024 before making new ones for the year ahead.
In our final episode of 2024, we say farewell to the Seahawks’ playoff hopes after their hopes of winning a tiebreaker with the Los Angeles Rams were extinguished and preview UW football’s Sun Bowl matchup against a Louisville team dealing with opt-outs. Plus UW women’s hoops starts Big Ten play in earnest with a historic performance and the UW men prepare for a January gauntlet.

Then Kevin runs through his top 10 songs of the year and Tristan shares 10 bands he expects to be big in 2025.
After a series of upset wins, are the Seahawks still being underrated headed into a Sunday night matchup against the dangerous Green Bay Packers? Before posing that question, we remember Kraken founding owner David Bonderman, look at a busy Sounders schedule for 2025, consider the possible departure of UW defensive coordinator Steve Belichick and revisit a strong Seahawks win in Arizona.
