I give a slight nod to Kevin in the debate because I think his position is more internally consistent. Tristan pokes fun at Kevin for getting duped by the aura created by Coors Light’s ads/ad strategies while committing himself to the aura of localness created by Rainier’s history. (To his credit, he acknowledges that Rainier is no longer brewed here. I believe the same is actually true of Olympia as well.) Also, I think there’s something to be said for a lower alcohol-content beer, though perhaps tailgating changes the equation. (My favorite game-watching beer is 21st Amendment’s Bitter American, which is both delicious and low in alcohol content, so I don’t get too hammered.) Nevertheless, if Tristan can accurately identify the various beers in a blind taste test, he should probably be declared the winner, as that would prove the awesomeness of his palate.
21st Amendment Bitter American – sounds like it’s time for a taste test!
